Remember the days when there was only one provider for your home phone service? That’s right, in the old days, home phone service would be provided by a single company (we won’t name them here), but everyone knew who you meant when you said “the phone company.”
Today, home phone service takes on many forms and is available from a seemingly limitless number of providers. Some people are forgoing traditional home phone service altogether and are using their mobile phone service for all their calls. Among all the companies offering home phone service, we see several that are growing. JoiPhone (www.joiphone.com ), for example, an Atlanta, Georgia-based provider of IP-based VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) home phone service has over 60,000 phone numbers nationwide and recently added 2,000 additional numbers, including new numbers in CA, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, MI, MN, NJ, OH, NY, PA, TX, VA, WA.
JoiPhone VoIP telephone services are nationwide throughout the 48 states. So if you reside within a JoiPhone coverage area in any of those places, you can now get home phone service from JoiPhone. JoiPhone is also aggressively adding phone numbers nationwide and by the end of this year they will have added more than 100,000 phone numbers. According to JoiPhone, “these new numbers offer greater coverage and capacity to families across the country who seeks the best possible service, at the best possible price.”
JoiPhone offers three different service plans; two for home phone service and one business phone service:
- The entry-level home phone service plan, JoiPhone, is available for $6.95/mo (yearly plane). The JoiPhone plan has more than 40 features including: call waiting, call forwarding. Caller ID, Voice mail, voice mail to e-mail and many more. It comes with unlimited incoming calls and 100 minutes of outgoing local and long distance calls and just 2 cents per minute when you go over the first free 100 minutes.
- The next higher tier of home phone service is called JoiPhone Unlimited, and is available for $14.95/mo (yearly plane). This home phone service plan contains all the elements of the JoiPhone plan, with the addition of unlimited local and long distance calling and unlimited calls within the USA (including Hawaii and Alaska) and Canada.
- The business phone service plan, called JoiPhone Business is available for $29.95. This phone service plan contains all the elements of the JoiPhone home phone service plan, with the addition of unlimited local and long distance calling and unlimited calls within the USA (including Hawaii and Alaska) and Canada. JoiPhone Business has a unique Auto Attend feature which is a mini PBX enabling the caller to choose extensions, (press one for sale, press two for marketing, press three for reception, etc.) and also has its own music on hold capability.
Also, JoiPhone offers all of it customers the ability to keep their old phone number-- a process they call Portability or LNP and they do it for free.
